Pictures tomorrow, perhaps.
I worked much of the morning in the front yard, cutting back more liriope and digging some up that had begun to spread and generally tidying and cleaning. I did a little pulling out of ivy from under the boxwoods, and trimmed off some dead box branches.
I planted out the blown turkish tulips I'd forced into the right side; they may not live, but it's worth a try. I planted the 8 tawny daylily plants I got via the farmer's market in the tree lawn bed (and got bit by a fire ant for my trouble).
I dug about 50 dandelions from the back lawn and maybe 10 front the front. There are more yet to do in the back. I should note that an archaeologist's trowel is the perfect tool for digging dandelions. Also, I love digging dandelions.
We went to the Big Box and got 100 more pounds of cow manure (not yet dealt with), leaf bags (one filled with the morning's work), 12 yellow snapdragons, 6 purple trailing petunias (planted in the three large terracotta pots on the steps, in a hanging pot, and the two leftover snapdragons in the right bed), a new (purple) shower watering wand to replace the broken one, new loppers to replace the stolen ones, garden sulphur to make the blueberries happy, and a hanging Boston fern for the porch (plus a couple of other non-garden related things, like wood screws for the close-the-possum-entry-hole project).
The Lady Banks rose is starting to bloom today. There are a zillion buds (suddenly) - I can see why people we meet recognize the house when I mention the rose.
Oh. Last night we planted two cabbages Evelyn acquired at school (one is Peter's), in the side bed in the back yard with the blueberries.
Still lots to do - the back yard is full of downed branches still, and the driveway we don't park in is full of liriope from weeks ago, leaves from last fall, and branch trimmings from today.
