sprouts

No photos today, but on the official first day of spring, we have sprouted spinach, peas, and mesclun lettuce. We also have the late daffodils and ipheion in bloom; cherry trees all over the city in bloom, and redbuds out - there is one in the tree lawn across the street from our house. Tulips in some sheltered areas (i.e. on campus) are blooming too, and I even saw a white iris as I walked in to work on Wednesday (the iris in my yard have vigorous leaves but don't have stems yet).
