- We had a plumbing issue last night related to the work we'd done fixing the leak (pressure pulled apart a glued PVC pipe in the crawl space). Michael was able to fix it very quickly, given all he's learned about plumbing, and Peter has a new piece of old pipe to add to his "pipe collection" on the front porch.
- Before we left we filed an application for a Certificate of Appropriateness with the historic preservation planning department. We asked for permission to 1) replace our main roof with a metal roof, 2) demolish the rear chimney (which was added at some point to vent a gas hot water heater) and 3) replace the front porch roof with a TPO membrane roof. The commission meets July 21 to consider. We'll see.
- We've had green beans, cucumbers, and tomatoes from the garden. I currently have 6 tomato plants that are mature and flowering/producing. The other major thing right now is beans, with some in flower and some growing like crazy.
- Next project is drywalling the bathroom ceiling. We'll measure tonight and figure out what we need, and hope to do the work this weekend. Nothing like celebrating American independence with sheetrock!
