Work progresses; last week the back porch roof, which is a shed roof in metal, was replaced. It looks, well, kinda the same. It's a whiter metal, and screwed down.
Yesterday work on trim and soffits began. The old wood pulled down looks decidedly rotted, and the new wood looks great. The funniest bit is a huge (18 inch by 3 inch) wad of caulk which had been used to "repair" a rotted board in the porch trim at some point. If the rain holds off, they should finish today. Pictures are in the camera, and it sure is hard to get pictures of construction work on the house at the winter solstice - when one is only home when it's nearly dark outside!
