We have been chugging along on small projects lately, but I keep neglecting to photograph them. I took some pictures today, but then neglected to download them.
So there is weatherstripping the front door, and brush clearing, and trim priming, and garden path tidying to look forward to.
I also want to do a couple of projects to find out more about our house. The UGA Map Library has aerial photos and Sanborn Fire Insurance maps for Athens. (They are available online up to 1922, via the Digital Library of Georgia which is pretty wonderful in general, but the last one online for Athens is 1918, and our house wasn't built yet. In print, the map library has a 1926 map for Athens, on which our house may or may not appear, and which may settle which date the house was built, as we have been told both 1920 and 1928.)
The other project is to do a deed trace at the County Courthouse. I don't really know much about doing this, but I found a fairly simple guide on the web site for the Grants Park neighborhood in Atlanta. They also recommend looking at City Directories, which I know we have for Athens in the Georgia Room in the Main Library.
