winter gardening

Okay, technically the winter solstice isn't until next month. And we haven't had a freeze yet. However, when one is harvesting vegetables the last week in November, I'm gonna go with winter gardening.

We have tomatoes - including new flowers! - on both remaining plants, the cherry in front and the hybrid in the back yard. This is the hybrid:

There are about 5 small heads of broccoli shaping up. I have never done broccoli before (with any success, anyway) so I'm wondering when to harvest - so they get big, but don't go to seed. I'm going to wait at least a week, I think:

We found 6 red raspberries on the bush I planted earlier this fall, and ate them. There are more not yet ripe.

I finished planting my bulbs yesterday. They need 8-10 weeks of cold, so it was none too soon! I also finally planted some of the spinach and kale seeds I bought two months ago.

And, of course, we are raking leaves. Pretty much everything is down, and we're about 3/8ths raked, and have 15 bags plus some in the compost pile and compost pile annex already.
